I was thrilled when Carole & Grahame asked me to photograph their wedding in the Lake District. I just love that place! When I first met Carole & Grahame we clicked straight away, so I knew we were going to have a fab time together. We’d had a lot of fun at their pre-wed shoot earlier in the year (click here for a reminder) – they were so relaxed and in love, and this really comes across in their photos.
They had a lovely, intimate ceremony with close friends and family at the beautiful Lodore Falls Hotel, in the Borrowdale valley. You couldn’t ask for a more idyllic venue, and what a backdrop!
Despite a spot of the Lakes finest drizzle, Carole & Grahame were great sports when I said I wanted to take them out onto the jetty at Ashness Bridge after the ceremony. Carole donned her wellies and off we went. I must have looked a bit crazy as I lay on the wet jetty in a blue plastic poncho, but the results were worth it!
Then as the afternoon went on, the sun broke out across Cat Bells and we were able to capture some wonderful light-filled pictures in the hotel grounds.
Thank you Carole & Grahame for letting me be part of your special day. Here are a few highlights… x
